Co-managed by New Energy Nexus and Energy Internet Research Institute at Tsinghua University (EIRI), EXCEL Accelerator is a growth-stage accelerator focused on clean energy transition and climate change mitigation in China. Leveraging support from local governments, academia and industry connections, EXCEL Accelerator provides growth-stage startups with technology/product expertise, pilot opportunities and market expansion. EXCEL Accelerator has successfully run three cohorts and now is recruiting its fourth cohort.
The Energy Internet Innovation and Entrepreneurship Summit (EIIES) is co-hosted by the Energy Internet Research Institute at Tsinghua University and New Energy Nexus. Taking place in Chengdu, Sichuan, the summit aims to highlight leaders driving energy transition.
Technology corporations, startups, accelerators, and governments who are taking significant strides in investing and deploying clean energy solutions participated in the summit to share insight on the industry, strategies for success and established new partnerships.
New Energy Nexus also plans and operates technology innovation contests for sub-national governments and large corporations. The contest aims to stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship, encourage individual participants or startups to develop solutions, and provide a platform for them to gain exposure and scale. New Energy Nexus China is responsible for the pre-planning, event publicity, participant and company recruitment, judging process, and award presentation.

Mobilizing capital towards decarbonization is instrumental in fighting against the global climate crisis. Fintech emerges as a potent force in capital mobilization with its proven capacity as a scalable disruptor within the financial sector. Leveraging digital technologies promotes financial inclusion and drives innovation. Strategic partnerships with major corporations serve as critical catalysts, facilitating the global scalability of these innovations. New Energy Nexus China fosters collaboration between startups and corporations through initiatives such as the Climate Fintech Accelerator Program and other pilot projects.
The Climate Fintech Accelerator accelerates fintech innovation by providing support services to startups such as commercial matchmaking, training, and networking. The NEX 2023 Climate Fintech Accelerator hosted 14 startups and supported 51 entrepreneurs over an eight-month program.

Our climate fintech team in China provides businesses with market research and consulting services related to climate finance and fintech.
TerraQuanta operates an AI-based geospatial imaging and analytics platform, creating what it calls a “Data Encyclopedia of the Earth”. It integrates massive multi-source satellite data through a team of experienced remote sensing scientists, and AI algorithm and engineering teams.
It provides solutions for forest fire monitoring, land planning, and environmental protection. It has supported applications across more than 30 scenarios: ground cover monitoring, crop yield estimation, water resources and water environment, forest resources dynamic and urban subsidence monitoring.
Support from NEX China: TerraQuanta participated in the third cohort of our EXCEL Accelerator program and is supported by our climate fintech team. With the support of New Energy Nexus, TerraQuanta attended the fourth EIIES (Energy Internet Innovation and Entrepreneurship Summit), the Hainan Climate Fintech Summit, and was featured on our China Cleantech Podcast. TerraQuanta is now working closely with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
